YMCA Family Mural

2026

Saint Paul, MN

This mural was created for the YMCA's new Peter J. King Family Foundation Center for Child and Family Wellbeing. The center provides care and education to youth of all ages, as well as their families, and the mural reflects a chronological growth from a young child with their parent, to youth and teenagers, and finally to elderly community members creating the background for them all to thrive. I also incorporated Minnesota-specific plants and animals growing up: tadpoles becoming frogs, caterpillars becoming butterflies, etc. It includes bright colorful textile imagery from a variety of local cultures, and blends natural and graphic elements to make children and families feel engaged, comfortable, and excited.
